Event Journaling

Logbooks to Track Any Type of Event

PlantLog’s Event Journaling feature allows facility managers to create customized logbooks that can help augment equipment monitoring efforts by providing a means for engineers to document maintenance and other events that take place within the facility. This removes the need for paper based logbooks and allows the creation of journals to represent the geographic or functional areas in which events should be documented. Each Journal also includes its own custom set of categories that can be used to indicate the type of event a journal entry pertains to. For example, a Journal used for maintenance might have categories for “planned maintenance” and “emergency maintenance”.

Quick & Structured Event Journaling

Engineers have the ability to document any event right from within PlantLog without having to use mobile devices. When inputting data using this method, users can set the date and time to when the event actually took place rather than when it was entered into the software. In addition, journal entries can be marked with a category to indicate the type of event it represents. Finally, rich text input allows engineers to emphasize various elements of an entry by applying highlight colors, bolding, underlining, or even adding hyperlinks to point to external web resources.

Convenient Journal Reviews

Reviewing past journal entries is fast, convenient, and only requires a few mouse clicks whether done during shift turnovers or after an equipment failure. Engineers will be able to review previous events to help determine the overall status of their operations while also providing a way to identify exceptional events that may require predictive maintenance activities to be scheduled.
